Problem Gambling and the College Population - Free Educational Program

Montgomery County Department of Drug and Alcohol and Montgomery County Community College’s Student Support & Referral Team in conjunction with The Council on Compulsive Gambling of PA will present a free educational workshop on the topic of Problem Gambling and the College Population on Thursday, May 10, 2012  from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM at the Blue Bell Campus Advanced Technology Center Room 101 with video-conferencing to the Pottstown Campus South Hall Room 213.

 

Guest Speaker - Joanna Franklin, MS, NCGC II

 

Learning Objectives:

  • Participants will review and discuss the definitions of Gamblers and typology, the DSM IV and V criteria for Pathological Gambling
  • Participants will be able to discuss prevalence rates among young adults and teens for problem and pathological Gambling
  • Participants will be able to list important research findings on adolescent gamblers and college student gamblers

Target Audience:  COLLEGE FACULTY, ADMINISTRATORS, COUNSELORS, COLLEGE HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS, STUDENTS, and DRUG AND ALCOHOL PROFESSIONALS WHO PROVIDE SERVICES IN MONTGOMERY COUNTY
